Jason Price is an active professional drummer and teacher in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. He performs with Synergy, Elevation, and The R Factor. Jason is also the co-founder and co-leader of The Skyway Jazz Orchestra who, in August of 2007, performed their first concert with highly acclaimed trumpeter and vocalist Byron Stripling. The Skyway Jazz Orchestra consists of some of the top players in the twin cities music scene such as Dave Hagedorn, Clay Pufahl, Matt Mealey, Eric Songer and Adam Rossmiller, among many others. Jason also performs at many corporate events with The Jason Price Trio and also with Raymond Berg’s Music Works company. Jason will be on faculty at The Shell Lake Jazz Camp during the summer of 2008. Jason Price has performed with Jon Faddis, Harold Mabern, Bill Reichenbach, Debbie Duncan, Robert Robinson, Michael Nelson, Dave Singley, Greg Keel, Kelly Rossum, Dean Sorenson, Irv Williams, Peter Schimke, Ed Calle, Byron Stripling and Slide Hampton. He also performed at Valleyfair Amusement Park in Shakopee, MN from 1997-2001, and at the Mall of America theme park. Jason attended UW-Eau Claire where he was a member of the Grammy-nominated UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble I under the direction of Robert Baca for three and a half years. He also co-directed UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensembles IV and V for 3 semesters. Jason received his BME from UW-Eau Claire in 2002. In addition to Jason’s active performing schedule, he is also a full-time band and jazz band instructor at McGuire Middle School in Lakeville, MN. Jason also maintains a private drum studio of 35-40 students per week. Jason Price has studied with some of the best musicians in the twin cities and beyond such as Joe Pulice, Phil Hey and Ron Keezer. He has also received instruction from Peter Erskine, Steve Houghton and Michael Bland. |
